I Convinced a Repug to drive Dems to the polls!
So a woman on another message board was complaining that ACT said they were an independent group, but later found out that they are supported by Dem's.

She had just signed up to (get this) GET PAID to drive canvasers and dem voters around neighborhoods and to the local polls. She was complaining that she didn't think the money would be worth it. I convinced her that not only was it a good idea - I laid on the guilt... After a long post on reasoning why it's good to do this, I sealed the deal with this:

It's like looking at my grandma and telling her that I'm going to vote, but I won't give her a ride because she's a pub ;)

Here is her response:
Oh Kittycat, I couldn't hate an educated women who has an opinion.
Now that I've had some time to think about it I think I'll go ahead & work.

---snip
I think it is a worthwhile effort to get people out to vote, no matter who they're voting for.

I've been posting GOTV threads the past couple days to encourage people to get out and how to be prepared for the long lines. :D

3. what she forgot to say was...............
" and I will do my best to convince those elderly ladies to vote Bush on the way, and to think, the Democrats will pay me to do it!"

Sorry if I seem cynical, I don't trust pubs as far as I can throw them.

4. Canvasers will be in the van with her... She's just the driver.

She would have to overtake them in the process of loosing her job for a day. I would suspect that one comment like that would get her canned - kwim?
