Natl Media: No question, they feel the tide has turned to Kerry.
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 11:32 PM by xyboymil
Watching the pundits on virtually every news media outlet I could find, I was rather taken back by how many are sensing a Kerry victory tomorrow.

MSNBC, CNN,CBS, NBC, ABC news hell even Fox news are all reporting 2 major developments:

**They are beginning to realize how much of the 18-29 year old voters are coming out in mass to vote.

**They also are quietly but now consistently realizing the polling data they have greatly underestimated how many new voters are casting ballots in 2004. Finally, many are seeing the light that the polling data they have may not be worth the paper it's written on.

When "bow tie" boy Tucker from Crossfire is predicting a Kerry win tomorrow, you know the tide has gone significantly toward Kerry's favor.

It's simply undeniable. Kerry will win tomorrow. And by a bigger margain then anyone thought. :toast:

4. I have to admit it, I was floored watching these news channels..
They have all realized Kerry may not just win, he may win by a significant margin based on the MASS number of new voters coming out.

It's simply priceless to see Hannity, Scarborough, O'rielly looking pale and nauseated.

I just love it.

I don't care how long they've been reliable, today's technology has made them obsolete.

I cannot WAIT to see the final numbers to show them just how far off they were. :toast:

Thank you and to all of those in your age group. I've been at this since '72 (as a 7 year old, I worked my tail off stuffing envelopes and walking neighborhoods hanging lit on doorknobs for McGovern), and I am truly humbled by the GOTV efforts of your generation.

32. I'm very Proud
I am very proud to hear of the tremendous, apparent participation of the 18 to 28 year old group. Why it is making a difference is that the age group has a long track record of being apathetic to wards politics and they have as all thinking and rational people have realized that Bush must go and that we all as Americans have to come together to send him packing.
While I am very grateful to that age group for voting we all have or will have equal impact on the outcome of this election as the 18 to 28 year old group could not elect Kerry alone nor could any age group but as one solid mass of Americans who care about this country we can liberate America from the scummy clutches of George Bush and company.
Now lets do it them come back and pat each other on the back. Go Kerry/Edwards!!

It is their future that they are voting for -- and their lives.

I am greatly hearted that they have at last taken the interest to realize that their vote does count.

In the 60s and 70s my generation insisted on a change.

We need their votes and they need the wisdom of the wise gray hairs.

I don't know a single person my age that isn't voting, and they aren't voting the way their parents tell them to either.

When I was still in highschool my chemistry teacher (one of my favorite teachers, he's one of the reasons i mjored in chem) told me that our generation was going to be the laziest ever, none of us would vote and we'd just wind up being slackers all our lives

I'd love to see his face after tommorow

13. It's fantastic
the activation of that demographic could mean the difference b/w four more years of bush and not just a Kerry victory, but a sustained democratic movement for years to come.

I'm in that age group, and while I've voted in every election since Clinton's second term, I no a lot of peers who are voting for the first time. That isn't sad, it's fandammntastic. And once they get a taste of the power they actually hold, perhaps we can keep them in the loop in future elections. Hopefully they'll feel a sense of ownership towards the Kerry administration.

As a certified old fart-curmudgeon I am thrilled that young voters are back. It is a wave to rival that of my youth (60's) when the first liberal movement started.

I'd call them the neoprogressives, but in today's world anything neo sounds so ugly.

31. Hell, no!
I was politically-active a lot younger than that, long before I was legally able to vote at 18. Back in my day, it was thought that young people held the key to reforming our system. And, although we only got part way there (and then had to watch our progress get turned back in the darkness of the Reagan-Bush 41 '80s), it seems fitting to see those in that age bracket pick up the torch and lead us out of the present darkness, just as we did 35-45 years ago.

Then again, I fall in that bracket anyway, but since we will be the ones running this country in the near future, it does make sense that we should save it so we can do that and get it ready for those who will follow us.

These young people are more like the Boomers ... idealistic and with a world view. The Gen X'ers are a more conservative and nationalistic group. The 18-24 year olds are worrying about a draft and an unjust and unpopular war just like their Boomer elders did.
