The repug stratagery: Keep Florida and Ohio close enough to dispute
the results. They know they can't win this outright, so they need to suppress enough dem votes in those states so that there is no clear winner, and neither candidate with 270 EV. They will bog things down in legal disputes and recounts. Then will come the switch. They'll say, "We're a nation at war! We are sending a signal of weakness to the terrists if we can't decide an election. You're all going to die!"

They'll use the power of the presidency, the media, and the courts to try to bludgeon the Dems into relenting "for the good of the country."

1. This is what I'm worried as hell about.
The cheating has already begun...if they steal another one, I'll lose it. I'm not putting anything past these people.

2. I've been the wet blanket when...
...people have gotten excited about a 2% Kerry lead in a poll.

"But," I say, "It's going to take a 10-point Kerry lead to push it out of stealing range."

I hope that's not true and I hope he gets spread he needs.

3. Not gonna happen.
It won't be close enough for them to cheat. If they want it illegitimately again, they'll have to do it the old fashioned way. And chickenhawks are allergic to that way.
