Re Real Time:: Kevin Costner, Ray Belzar, Wes Clark
After thinking about it, Kevin was sent in there to off set Clark.

To me he was acting dumb and drunk... nice cover to sabotage Clark's comments...which he DID

I won't be seeing Costners flicks if I have to pay.

2. Turns out kevin was drunk..
A DUer posted last Friday that costner said that he drank some wine(whine)on the way over cause he was "nervous" about being on.

But, he ended up being a loquacious, pugnacious drunk. Every time he interuppted Clark and Beltzer..I muted his inaneness out!

3. Richard Belzar and Wes blew him away
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 01:21 AM by MADem
Everyone was humoring Kevin, like he was the "moran" at the table and they felt sorry for him. But Richard's "Fascist Party Doll" comment and Wes' commentary totally offset any damage Costner tried to inflict.

When Wes pointed out that there were no "retakes" in politics like there are in the movies, that shut him up a bit. The Nader rambling by Kev was just...painful.

But the NEW RULES nailed it all--the wolf hat, the "vote your lungs, your gallbladder, your kid's DNA" -- it was a brilliant bit!

4. My best friend in the whole world and I "met" over a Kevin Costner
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 01:47 AM by Hamlette
conversation. He was a god or...whatever after Siverado. I thought he was ok but Kevin Klein stole the movie. He was okay in the baseball one with Susan Sarandon (I'm blocking the name but the dialogue got him through it) but other than that, there is NOTHING of his worth watching.

I've seen him interviewed a time or two. Not often because the man is not very smart. I don't think he was drunk. He's always like that. Also, he is a HORRID actor. He has the range of a Humvee.

Anyway, I'd just started a new job and this woman who worked there and I went to lunch. Costner came up in the conversation. He was such a god to some people I didn't want to launch into my "he's an idiot and can't act" rant and to my surprise....she said: "I've decided the real definition of hell is spending eternity being forced to watch Kevin Costner movies"! The first person I'd met who thought he was as big a dud as I did. This was about 6 years ago. Turns out she also hates showtunes. I decided we were from the same tribe.

Watch Field of Dreams again. His affect is entirely flat all the way through the movie!

5. Bull Durham.

Now, there is one more.

It's called "No Way Out" and it's with Sean Young and
Gene Hackman and Will Patterson and Fred Thompson.
Kev is in a Navy uniform and on looks alone he gets it
done. He must have been 30 or something.

7. Does this mean ...
...I can't like "The Untouchables", "JFK", "Dances With Wolves", or "Field of Dreams" anymore? Poo.

"Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves" was passable only because of Morgan Freeman, though, and I never wasted a minute on "Waterworld."

Just sayin'.

6. Great Show...
I went to that taping but didn't see the whole show when it aired, tell me....could you hear the comment Belzar made re: Ann Coulter? He goes "looks like she had some work done" which the audience howled. She HAS had some work done and it looks OK, IMO....but omg she looked like she was gonna spit toads our of her mouth when she said that! I was watching the glass in the studio but not sure they had the camera on her. Shortly after she made the lame comment about thinking he was OBL, oh brother...

Costner came across as "I'm an actor and I need to be moved (entertained) to vote....no candidate is pure enough for my special soul...I relish the sound of my own voice."

Looking chunky there Kev...
