Thank You, Dr Howard Dean, for making tonight possible....
You were not my first choice as a nominee (actually, you were way down my list). You were loud, said some outrageous things, were misquoted and misrepresented. Yet you, and you alone, ignited the party faithful from their dormancy, woke them up, made opposing the war respectable, energized young people and brought a revolution of on-line techology to this stodgy old party.

Does anyone here REALLY think we'd have a 58-37% lead among 18-24 year olds were it not for the good doctor? He's the one who got them up and off their asses like no one else has been able to do since the voting age was lowered in 1972. When he lost to Kerry, he closed ranks and supported his party's nominee 100%.

When John Kerry wins later tonight, he will owe his election-in large part-to Howard Dean, former governor of Vermont and straight shooter. Sure hope JK understands and uses Dean's abilities-he'd be a fool not to.

2. I Totally Agree
Dr. Dean turned the election. If Kerry wins it is largely due to Howard Dean.

3. I think the miserable disaster that is Bush helped a little too...
...I know that was the big motivating factor in many people I know who didn't vote in 2000.

That's not to take away from Dean. I'm glad he was in the race for many reasons, and he did a lot of things that I hope are beginnings of a new direction in election politics.

5. Right On, Rowdy!!!
It was Howard Dean that said to the Democratic Party "I think you have a spine, in fact, I know you do."

Thank you Howard Dean.

6. Thank You!!!
Dean was my choice. I'll admit, once Kerry became the nominee, I was behind him but not 100%...only because he was the nominee. But the more I learned about Kerry, the more I have come to love him to be the next President of the US.

I quickly moved past the 'OMG, it should have been (fill in the blank)' I'm 250% behind Kerry.

Could Dean have won? I don't know. And the reality is, I can't go back. But Dean, without question, gave us the courage to stand up. Dean put the backbone back in us and energized us to FIGHT!

This is a war in every sense. From the local to the national. I've always been motivated to be involved...Dean gave me the courage to be PROUD to be a Liberal and even prouder to be a DEMOCRAT!!!

8. And I'd shout it out to Dean supporters, too! We helped drive that
campaign into the consciousness of the country, we got Dean to a place where he could not be ignored.

I hope his hard work is rewarded in the Kerry administration, or as the head of the DNC, where I think he could bring back Dem majorities to the House and Senate.

Having said that, I am very proud to live in a country under the leadership of President Kerry, who I hope will have a fruitful, peaceful, and prosperous 8 years, until Edwards takes over for another 8.

To me, it seems like the right man, the right job, the right time...

Cross your fingers-hope I'm right.

11. Yup. The energy of his outrage was contagious and honest. Thanks, doc.

I saw his rally in Philadelphia in August '03 by accident. I was in town on business and on a hot muggy day with thunderstorms brewing a gathering of about 3000 of us across from the street from the Liberty Bell listened to him articulate both our outrage and hope for remedy.

Best part for me: when his warm-up speaker was killing time because Dean's plane was late I shouted out loud enough for all to hear while the speaker took a breath, "impeach King George!"

The whole crowd broke up and the rebellion against the king seemed to be established and about to blossom into a damn good fight for justice.

And Dean lit the match that sparked the villager's torches as they went to the castle to drive out the monster called Fascismstein.

13. Dean is terrific, one of the best.
He was one fo the first to speak out against *, and he got a ton of people enthused and involved when things were pretty damn dark.

He exemplifies the best of the Democratic Party.
