Today Is Now: David Corn is stoked
It's now Election Day. The wife and I just saw R.E.M. Michael Stipe told us that the band is playing Madison Square Garden on Thursday night and it will be a large celebration. We hope. Several prominent Democrats at the show this evening were in an optimistic mood. The polls are trending in the right direction, the number of volunteers is staggering, voters in African-American precincts in Florida have spent hours in line in order to cast their votes early. Me? I've suspended both hope and analysis. I didn't look at a single poll today. I have no hunch, no prediction, no gut feeling. There are too many vectors, too many crosscurrents. And why speculate when the answer will be known (probably) in 24 or so hours?

2. Kudos
... to David Corn, a tireless campaigner for uncovering Bush misdeeds. Great, positive article.
