The World Is Watching...
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 04:37 AM by JCMach1
Students of my university (American University of Sharjah) will be watching live election returns in the main auditorium on a huge screen...

America is being watched more closely then ever before... I expect there will be MANY students watching during the day.

BTW: I heard michael moore is doing commentary for the BBC tonight.

2. Watching and trembling like it's 1938
Because that's EXACTLY what year it is, metaphorically-speaking.

4. My God how hard I have fought the past four years from the States
and here...

I ran for the legislature in fl in 2002... I fought tooth and nail as an activist and campaign organizer.

Losing is not an option... I can't face myself or my students...

I won't be able to look my Iraqi students in the eye anymore...

PLEASE!!!

And yes, I voted over three weeks ago in FL...

Wow. That must be absolutely excruciating. How is the mood where you are? I can only imagine the kind of global diversity your University must have. Do you ever get into political conversations with the students?

Hope all is well with you -- I guarantee a Dem victory in Saginaw County (MI) tomorrow -- it's all I (and my buddies) can do.

8. Germany is with you, America!
Like most other countries around the world, the Germans are overwhelmingly pro- Kerry.

Best wishes to all of you and to a happy ending of this day.

I've already put the Champagne into the fridge, so don't let me down, folks! ;)

9. Yes we are - it's all over German tv...
Last night they had an hour long special about American politics (McCarthy, Watergate, Lewinsky - some of our finest moments). Husband's co-workers keep asking about it - it's very important to so many people. I'll never forget the hatred felt towards * during the start of the Iraq war. Now, I've got my US flag out and I'm fianlly proud again!

13. Just saw a piece on MSNBC about world coverage. AMAZING
so many nations have media members covering this thing live. they really know their future is tied up with the U.S. and by far the majority fall in line wanting a strong internationalist, Kerry, in office.

LeMond actually broke from the tradition and endorsed Kerry with signal that a Kerry presidency would help with repairing US/European relations

This past weekend I had no less than FIVE strangers approach me and promise them I would vote for Kerry. I sent in my absentee ballot four weeks ago. I am going to stand on the street tomorrow with a big KERRY WINS!!! sign.
