Incredible heartache and pain today! - Bush favored in early returns
I thought I could make it through today but now I am not so sure. Browsing the NY Times web site, front page says "Bush favored in early returns". ARGH#$^%$^%$#^%#!!!! I cannot stand it! I shall have to stay away from all press today just to make it through with my sanity.

Yes, the Times said the results were from 2 hamlets in New Hampshire. How can they in good conscience make that a headline on their front page?

<rant over now>
thanks for listening

2. Those 2 districts are Repug districts.
And Kerry got more votes in them than Gore got in 2000.

7. Calm down
Total of about 40 votes - hardly a meaningful sample - these towns went heavy Dole in 1996, but last time I checked Clinton won re-election

9. NH went red in 2000
And we won that election. What's the big deal? Unless the Times is staffing clairvoyants there's nothing to worry from early results.

12. THAT IS NOT THE WAY THE HEADLINE READS!

You have posted a picture's caption as a headline!
Have you no shame?

N.H. Hamlets Cast First Election Day Votes

HART'S LOCATION, N.H. (AP) -- The nation's first Election Day votes were cast and counted just after midnight in a pair of mountain hamlets, with 35 votes for President Bush besting challenger John Kerry's 21. Ralph Nader received one vote.

The first Tuesday votes came from the northern New Hampshire community of Hart's Location, where 16 voters chose Bush, 14 went with Kerry and one chose Nader. Minutes later, the 26 registered voters in Dixville Notch, about 50 miles to the north, split 19 for Bush and 7 for Kerry.
