Turnout estimation suggestion:

When you go to the polls, ask two or three of those who appear to be the most wizened veteran poll-watchers: Is turnout up, down or the same as four years ago? The anecdotal evidence is fine, but you really need to judge against 2000.

1. By my estimation
in 2000 I went to the polls around noon and did not have to wait at all to vote. Today I went at 6AM and the Library I vote at was packed with people flowing out the door. And I live in upstate New York, if its like this in a state that is definitely going to Kerry, I imagine it will be much higher in the Battleground.
