just voted.... big turnout for small town in Indiana
In a little town in Indiana of about 1800 people, there were about 50 people in line to vote at 6am this morning. What is amazing about this is that most of these people stood in line in the pouring rain. I also noticed at least 6 young voters in the group around 19-22 years of age. They asked for our drivers license for the first time since I have ever voted and they also had a precinct inspector there for the first time. It will be a long day for the volunteers since there were only 4 voting booths set up. And all of this in a "Red" state.... Go Kerry!!!!!!

1. At my voting place in Indianapolis...
...there were a LOT of democratic yard signs right in front of my voting place, there must have been two yard signs for every democratic you can vote for on the ballot. Andy for Indy was the only republican yard sign I saw.

2. I just voted in New Jersey
I was about the 50th person to vote, at 6:45 a.m. The polls opened at 6, and I was told by one of the poll workers that there was a line at 5:45 a.m. That may augur well for a good turnout in NJ!

3. Interesting, at my polling place in Indianapolis they did not check ID
They had a book of scanned signatures from the voter registration cards, and I just told them my name, they found my signature in the book, and I signed next to it. I thought that this system would be absolutely ripe for fraud. From what I can see of this system, you could register 100 times as different people, and then show up to vote. At no point in the process are you asked to verify your identity.

Of course I live in a neighborhood that is about 99% republican, and they don't care if repukes cheat.

5. Kerry/Edwards and Kernan/Davis
I live in Broad Ripple (Indy) and we had a nice line waiting in a church alley.

Don't think Indiana will go blue, but my vote adds to Kerry's popular vote win margin. ;)
