Just wanted to thank everyone who voted early, and allow all of us to feel included in the election day buzz!

I voted early!

1. Eh? Wot? I voted about 10 days ago
Today, I drive to pick up ballots from people who weren't sufficiently diligent to get them in the mail and can't drive to the elections office themselves.

2. I voted early, so did my husband.
But we will be in on the buzz today. We are driving voters to the polls :-) And there is nothing like the buzz of getting those good dem voters to the polls.

13. I've done that, mostly elderly. I've heard some wonderful stories
from them; even some from the front lines of the civil war movement and even the Holocaust.

It can really be amazing.

I envy you; today I'm canvassing.

32. Driving elderly voters is fun,
they have so many interesting stories. Plus they are dependable, so it is relatively simple. They tell you what time and how many, you go get them. Everyone votes in an orderly and predictable fashion.

But my biggest democracy rushes so far have come from the 'unlikely' voters. They are harder to turn out, bus sooooo much fun. We drove a few young women from a local residential program to early voting. They were first time voters and they got such a kick from voting for the first time and sticking it to the man. They made it all worthwhile. :-)

... on the very first day we could vote here, along with a large red, white & blue parade of Dems who marched down the main drag in town to proudly cast our votes for the next President and Vice President of the United States, John Kerry and John Edwards!

8. Absentee Ballot
As I am disabled with a severe chronic pain condition and cannot wait in long lines so I obtained an absentee ballot in my state last week and voted for Kerry.

17. Yep, I voted a week ago (absentee)...
and it almost seemed too easy. I still have an urge this morning to go stand in line to vote. This time in 2000, I was standing in a long voting line. Then as now, the morning weather was great. Hmmm...I miss that community experience. Go Kerry/Edwards!

:hi:

I passed by one of the local voting precincts this morning on the way to work and there people already lined up to the parking lot before the door even opened. It is a heavily democratic area too.

25. Same here in NC. . . .
And every time I went by the early polling place (on my way to the post office) the line was always out the door, and often down the sidewalk for about a block.

We're gonna DO it!
