A friend of mine just called from Missouri and gave me a report from her voting precinct. Polls opened at 6, she got there at 6:10 and waited thirty minutes with about 60 other people in line. She said it was very quiet and there were no disruptions or signs anywhere near the polling place. She was disconcerted at her first use of a punch card type ballot. She is very smart and she said she did not like or feel comfortable with the chad type ballot. There was no way to confirm that she voted correctly after she was done. But she feels good about the outcome of the election. Go MO.
...and I just returned. Heavy turnout in a cold light drizzle. Let's all click our heels and cross our fingers and say our prayers. And I got to actually shake hands with the person to be my congressman (Russ Carnahan) who was outside the polling place milling with MoveOn and Union reps...
I live next door to my polling place so I'm always there very early, between 6:00 and 6:15 am. The past three elections my voter number has varied from 3 to 7. This morning I arrived at 6:15 am and got voter #91.
on my Grandma this morning in St.Joseph and she voted early before work and she said there were more people at her polling place then she's ever seen before.
She totally rocked a black hoodie for me too!! Makes me sad I didn't get to vote in person.
She wouldn't go let the air of my disgusting repuke mothers tires though ... I really can't see why not.
