Oviedo, Florida...10 miles from Orlando (Election report)
I just got off the Phone with my wife who just voted at our precinct. She had a wait of about an hour and a 1/2 and said when she got out the line was twice as long.

My brother voted over in Sanford, (about 15 miles from Downtown Orlando) and he waited about one hour. He said that the line was predominately young African American and that the energy in the line was incredible.

I'm going about 2pm today .... I hate lines but I don't think I'll mind this one.

5. If they are actually allowed to vote, this year they will be our
ticket to freedom. They had to undergo it in the 60s and they will do it again. God bless them.

3. Here in Lake Mary it was similar
about 5 miles south of Sanford, about an hour wait this morning. Probably about 15% of the total precinct was there before 8am.

4. My old roomie lives in Oviedo...says it's heavily repug. Do you get a
good feeling for our side, from the long lines?

7. It's got plenty of Repubs
but it's also got the huge and I mean huge University of Central Florida. I spoke with several UCFers and they say the GOTV is big and it's Kerry.

8. we need, in these "long lines" threads, to know if this is unusual
we have lines in Utah...every year. Not long like that. A point of reference would be nice.

9. I would say definitely above average
though I imagine not as long as they could have been, given the high (~30%) early voter turnout.

10. This is great to hear. I voted 2 weeks ago, so I was spared the
lines. I went to the SemCo Dem. headquarters to ask about volunteering instead. No signs at all, wow. Next check I write goes to "Seminole County Democratic Executive Committee".

11. hey, i live in oviedo, too! saw mostly the same thing...
alot of young, energized voters. waited about an hour and a half. everyone in line that i talked to said that at this exact same location 4 years ago, you could walk right up and vote- no wait at all!. our turnout is really going to win this one BIG!
...on a side note- did you see the freepers on the corner of mitchell hammock and 426 today with the bush signs? i screamed "how does it feel to know you are about to lose", among many more explicit things while they were trying to ignore me. then i flicked them off and called them murderers. it was a lot of fun!
