Vote for Matthew Lynch

Today I am voting for this man:
1st Lt. Matthew D. Lynch, 25, of Jericho, N.Y., died Oct. 31 from enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.

Jericho is about 10 miles from my house. It's a wealthy suburb of NYC. Kids there have straight teeth, late model cars, and SAT tutors. They don't die in a desert in a strange land for a pointless war. They die at home, in their sleep, after living a long, fruitful life.

I'm a few years older than Matthew Lynch was when he died just a few days ago. It makes me sick to think that he'll never grow old, that just a week ago he lived, and now he does not live. And it didn't have to happen.

I vote for you, Matthew Lynch.
