Why trust him on something like this?

Rove
Anyone else get the feeling that this is a Rovian tactic to lay the groundwork for massive challenges...?

24. Definitely Rove, that was my first thought.
I don't know all of those locations, but at least one appears to be in a mainly black area of Phila.

They're trying to muddy the waters.

25. "They're trying to muddy the waters."
You hit the nail on the head. When Kerry takes PA they will be whining about voter fraud since Drudge got it out there so early.

5. So did anyone say which candidate got the planted votes?
I refuse to go to that moran's site and read it myself, so since you were already there, I'm just askin'.

9. That's good news for us
The fact that Drudge's top story isn't about Bush winning, but about a potential reason Bush is going to lose, is good news.

The gig is up, and all the GOP will have to rely on are these tenuous claims of Dem voter fraud. And I expect these will go away, as the tide turns clearly in Kerry's favor.

10. The exact same shit happened in Miami-Dade in 2002
Leftover test votes from the "testing" of the voting machines the night before that were never cleared. Of course those votes were repuke votes.

11. Most of the time this is leftover from the testing
This sort of thing happens more often than most people would care to admit. The machines are not wiped clcean after the testing.

That's why they check before they start.

And how do you fit hundreds of them in the machine at one time?

14. They were never cleared out after "testing"
I saw this happen w/my own eyes in Miami-Dade in 2002, when I was working on the Anne Bettancourt campaign against Mario Diaz Balart.

17. Don't be surprised if they try this...
In any swing/close state they think they can get away with it. Anything "leaning Kerry" is going to necessitate a recount from their thinking.

16. More likely, Rove planted it...
They've already tried to plant fake fliers in a Dem HQ, but it backfired - someone who saw them, threw them out. The next day, someone shows up to "discover" the fliers and report them to Drudge, but they were in the trash. So he asked to see one, then went to the media, and Drudge put up a siren. Classic Rove. He's done several instances of planting fliers, making them look like his opponent did it.

22. Real question - who are the votes FOR? - if its a test, then some will be
one candidate and some will be for the other - if all the votes go one way, it's fraud

Grow up folks - both parties have their tricks - historically Reps have suppressed the vote and Dems have inflated it - let's hope this doesn't screw up voting in Philly today

32. Pennsylvania GOP is going to file suit
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 11:02 AM by Roland99
Pennsylvania GOP is going to file suit in the Court of Common Pleas in an effort to have the machines in question impounded and have them replaced 'with machines that did not already have votes on them'... Developing...

The key thing is the votes were found and our system is working. The workers are checking the machines and these machines have been impounded.
