ugh..

We use paper scanning machines...the ones where you bubble in the candidate's circle and scan the sheet.

Well, the machine got jammed just before I voted, and the election people had to open it with a key and manually remove the jam. I then put mine in and it sucked in ok, but I'm worried that the machine might not have counted the first ballot after being tampered with...It might need to "reset" or something before counting the next vote..

I wish the election supervisers had put in a blank ballot first to test it...and I was too dumb to stand around and make sure things went well for the people after me.

Anyone know how these machines work?

1. i voted on an ES&S optical scanner
after I fed in my ballot the lcd display on the front indicated that the vote count increased by one. The machines also beep if the ballot is filled out correctly. I wouldn't worry too much, you're probably fine.

Be glad that it wasn't your ballot that caused the jam in the first place.....

3. Where are you at
Call your local Democratic headqtrs and make a report, just in case. But I think they followed correctly. Main thing, they have a paper trail. But with you calling in a report, the Kerry team/Democratic team will know to follow up on that pct.

6. I'm not sure about mine either..
I wish I had asked for another ballot now.. The chad for Kerry/Edwards appeared about 97% gone... I'm worried about that 3%

Anyone know if that could present a problem for the tabulating machine?
