My Cat's for Bush*??
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 12:24 PM by Sparkly
My cat, Tigger, is here in our basement offices most of the time, because we are. She has a "condo" -- a sort of igloo-shaped basket where she sleeps, hangs out, does catnip -- atop a high shelf above my desk. She is a very nervous, skittish cat, afraid of her own shadow.

One morning last week, I came stumbling downstairs, coffee in hand, and said good morning to my husband. "That cat has got to go!" he growled.

"Why, what did she do?"

"Go look at her condo!"

There was a little Bush/Cheney sign attached, posted on two toothpicks, with the slogan "Security Cats for Bush .....because we're nervous!"

I've been nervous myself the past few weeks, but the sight of my freaked-out cat with her little sign makes me laugh every time I look at it (which is exactly why my husband did it). So I thought I'd share the story.

Edited to add photo (thanks, Crozet!!). It's hard to see the "...because we're nervous!" part, but it's there. :)

2. Your husband sounds like quite a character. The fact that
he took the time to do that with toothpicks is hilarious!

3. I knew it!
I knew there were some turncats out there in this election!

Your husband sounds like a riot. You should post a photo of her sign. Good news is, you can lock her in her carrier today and disenfranchise her by never letting her get to her polling place. (Unless it's the litterbox.)

As an aside, I have two DemoCats and they're both cuddled up right now snoozing on top of each other, completely, blissfully unaware of the voting going on right now. They were early voters, you see.

7. Later today we are going to allow our four cats to vote........
we write the two (major) candidates names on two separate pieces of paper, then put the cats down in front of them and see which 'ballot' they pick.

In 2000, 3 of the 4 went Democratic.....this year the polls indicate a total victory for Kerry; they're smart cats.

8. Tell Tigger the story of Bill Frist aka Cat Killer
Once she learns about that cat killing freak she'll be so scared she'll never even think about voting Republican again. For those who don't know Frist admits to going to animal shelters and adopting cats as pets and taking them home to mutilate them- and this guy is the majority leader in the Senate! Republicans are sick.
