14. Working at home, sort of
I have some stuff to do, mostly mindless things which are a good thing today. They make the time pass till 4PM PST.

Margaritas tonight, for sure, no matter what happens, but I prefer being happy to being sad, so here's to a Kerry landslide!

16. Not me
I'm home today. It's a floating holiday where I work and my boss thought it would be a good idea if I took it. We're 95% for Kerry there, but she seemed to think that I was the most likely to blow or something. I wasn't need for GOTV - that seems to be well covered where it's needed and we're a blue state. I figured I'd get stuff done here. I've hardly gotten off this damned computer.

awhile today, just to hang with my own kind and promote DU...maybe we can go on as lurkers from their offices.
They should have current up to date data from across the country, so I won't miss out on anything while I'm away from DU.

Its hard to leave this site...Its great to find a place "where everybody knows your name".

Maybe head down there this evening..check out the victory party plans!!

I'm in an open cube and I've changed the position of my computer monitor so I can shield my DU-browsing from the others... However, my office, a small law firm, is all enthusiastically pro-Kerry (I work in the W. Willage of NYC, a heavy Kerry area).

and in the "field" for appointments. I have none today on purpose which means I'm free, but have to be available for clients. One just called and I may have to go see him. I've done some computer work (other than DU, lol) TVs on in the background. I'm so anxious for this outcome, I'm completely taken over by todays election. Any "work" has almost been an interuption.

39. Very little…..
I’ve got a TV on behind me….I’ve got two laptops sitting here with various sites spread between them…..thankfully, NYMEX trading is on the quite side….crude is down .23 @ 49.90…..and the phones aren’t ringing…..

Was kinda shocked when talking to one of the gals in the Corp. office this morning….she said she was still undecided and was thinking about just flipping a coin when she votes tonight after work….only thing she was firm on was the stem-cell proposition…for. With that, it only took me a minute to have her leaning towards
Kerry……hmmmm….maybe I have gotten something done today….

49. My feet are too darn cold
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 01:32 PM by CitySky
... from standing in the rain for 3 hours outside a polling place this morning with a Morrison sign, smiling and waving at the people driving by or pulling into the parking lot to vote, since they wouldn't let me get close enough to actually approach people who had already parked and were on foot.

Trying to hand people soggy flyers and pushcards through the windows of their pickup trucks wasn't working too well, so I took a break to buy some zip-close baggies, then folded the flyers and pushcards into little plastic-sealed packs. Then back out on the corner in the rain, smiling and waving and handing the baggies of my Morrison stuff through the window if they slowed down enough: "THANK YOU FOR COMING TO VOTE!" -- even to the Republicans.

Parts of my clothing I don't even want to mention are soaked through, now I'm in A/C, drinking tea and reading DU and desperately hoping I can get SOME work done today somehow.

The woman who relieved me at 10am in the rainstorm is named Monique; please think kind thoughts her way as well.

If Morrison beats DeLay this will all be SO worth it.

70. Work
I work in the legal department of a large international NGO in Washington DC. Most of our staff are from other countries. I'm not getting a great deal accomplished today. In fact the only reason I didn't call in sick was that the other paralegal in the group may or may not be in labor. In case she is having her baby, I didn't want to not be in the office. Thankfully nobody is expecting a great deal out of me today. Most all of the foreign nationals who work here support Kerry and hope that * is defeated conclusively. And even better, most of the US nationals who work here feel the same.
