Grrrrr......Argument with my dad about people at polls...

I've been doing the GOTV at our precinct for MoveOn. I'm only talking to people I talked with before Election Day. He calls it invasion of privacy. I call it talking to people I've already talked to who are looking for me anyway. We've already had to call the elections office twice because of idiot people who think we shouldn't be there...GGRRRRRR ...thanks for letting me vent. Lots of Dems voting though on the upside!! :hi:

you're wrong. Just voting isn't enough. If you have to grap people by their short hairs and drag 'em to the polls do it! Whatever it takes.

I'm working on the LNVB project and we were nothing but polite to the people we spoke to. We were told not to "get into it" with Leaning/Strong Bush people. They went so far as to tell us not to spend much time with undecideds. We simply thanked them for their time and walked away. No pressure, no nothing. At the polls we have a table away from the line for people to check in with us. We don't talk to anyone who doesn't talk to us first.

I find it hard to believe that any LNVB volunteers are intimidating and harassing their neighbors - since this is a community based movement. Plus MoveOn PAC is being so careful not to give the Republicans any excuses to cry/whine foul.

and Strong Kerry. First we were told to put our table outside in the hallway...then we were yelled at and had to call election officials to back up that it was legal for us to be there. Then we were told to go inside the polling place...I haven't gone back yet. I go back at four....so far it's been trouble.

Just praying away for ol' George? Don't think so.
