Why doesn't FL all close at once?
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 01:30 PM by March of Time
It's not hard to open SFL an hour longer or close the Panhandle an hour earlier?

Are people there just dumb or do they like this bullshit?

1. Isn't the panhandle in CST time? If they closed at EST time, they'd
get shorted an hour of voting time, right?

5. What's the problem with how it works now?
I mean, exactly what are you basing your opinion that FL voters are dumb on?

7. The fact that they accept that not all of the state votes at the same time
It can skew results.

11. That was not a function of the time difference
That was outside forces like the media helping to screw things up...and the people who let it effect their actions.

10. Two times zones and it was the media that "f"'d up last time around
I'd be hard pressed to call the people in Florida stupid when it was the media that called a winner in Florida in 2000 when the CST polls were still open.

If the media hadn't been in a race to declare a winner first for each state we may have been spared that whole 2000 mess.
