Just ran out and picked up a bottle of Champagne.
Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin Special Reserve 1995.

I intend to smoke a Padron Anniversario Maduro Torpedo while sharing this bottle of champagne with my wife tonight.

1. a friend and I already drank two glasses
the owner of the weinbau delivered it w/our meal and asked us if one of us were having a birthday. We said, no, we were celebrating the US having a new president. He smiled, winked, and walked away.

2. I have one in the refrigerator. It says Ruinart.
Hubby buys it, so I'm clueless about the quality.

However:
:toast: Regardless of the outcome, we all have something to celebrate. We have turned the corner on the right wing reich.

3. its funny
I used to work at a restaurant where they gave employees a bottle of Veuve Cliquot for Christmas...

I have had the bottle in my fridge for almost a year, and not being a huge drinker, never even thought about cracking it.

About an hour ago, into my head popped the image of me popping the cap in celebration tonight! I hope, no, am confident, it will be happening...

4. I just transferred our last champagne wedding gift
from the cupboard to the frige. I don't know what it is (it's downstairs and I'm too lazy to go look) but it has a way-cool silver base and a silver medallion on it.

My stomach is in knots today, but I'm looking forward to drinking that puppy!

10. Stick it in the freezer around an hour before you plan to drink it
Nothing better than ICE COLD champagne. But remember, unlike vodka, it will eventually freeze so don't forget about it (a very expensive lesson learned a few years ago on New Years Eve)

13. Last time I did something like that
I *did* forget about it, and ended up with some lovely hard cider all over my freezer. I can wait.
