Angelina GOP alleges voter fraud by Democrats

Angelina County Republicans on Monday accused Democrats of fraud and coercion during the early voting period — a claim rejected by election officials and the superintendent of the Lufkin State School, who was implicated in the allegations.

Unidentified people coming to Lufkin's Republican Party headquarters recently made allegations of state school employees bribing mentally disabled students and improperly using state resources, according to Dale Ingle, incoming chairman for the county Republican Party.

Ingle alleged Lufkin State School employees attempted to bribe students with ice cream if they voted the "right way." The votes were allegedly an attempt to boost the Democratic agenda fighting the possibility of the state school being closed, he said.
