Why is CNN saying this?
HOUSE (218)* GOVERNOR
GOP: 36 GOP: 0 GOP: 23
DEM: 29 DEM: 0 DEM: 16

*Seats needed for majority

They are saying 218 seats needed for a majority? WHY?

The other numbers concern the senate and gov races

2. You need 218 to get a majority in the House.
Half of 435 is 217.5. Round up to 218 to get the majority.

6. Probably uncontested.
I would suspect that those were seats with only one candidate, which occues too often.
