Freep- Early trouble in Virginia
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1266824/posts

Citing CNSNews (very right wing news service)-
"(CNSNews.com) – One of the early troubling signs on Election Day for President Bush was the analysis by veteran political pollster John Zogby, which showed that the state of Virginia and its 13 electoral votes were up for grabs."

4. It already has...
Just the news that its close has shaken the early returns from the election and made a difference. Even if Virginia ends up barely red, Virginia being up for grabs right now has swung the momentum our way.

3. Trust me - VA CAN go blue!
I've made 3 trips to different precincts today as part of the GOTV effort - record turnouts at all of them - Election Protection lawyers at each one - it's been a beautiful sight.

Family reporting from NOVA & Tidewater also report incredibly heavy turnout...

NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER

5. Voter turnout in Richmond area precincts has been extremely
heavy -- some people waited an hour and they were in line by 6 AM. DH and I voted in Bon Air at 6 AM and the wait was about half an hour. The line never let up. All parking places taken. I can't say there were more Dems than Repubs, but there was a hell of a turnout. The poll worker who was showing new people how to punch the ballot said she had never seen such a huge number of people coming out to vote in any election.

At work, everyone who voted in the morning reported heavy turnout.

7. I Was in Fairfax County
Huge turnout, Kerry signs everywhere, and volunteers just kept showing up to GOTV. Beautiful. Drove from Maryland to make it count. I think VA can make it too.

9. Teetering on Blue
I was totally jazzed when I saw the Zogby site around noon - people have said that VA was more of a battleground state than many had imagined - I feel that they are right. There's a lot of pro-dem sentiment than I saw in 2000 - more optimism, you know?

11. The New Virginia
The Virginia of 2004 is not the Virginia of
2000 and it sure isn't the Capital of the
Old South anymore. Virginia has seen tremendous
growth in the last 20+ years. There has been a
steady stream of "Blue Staters" moving just far enough
south to escape New England winters, ie, Virginia.
Our demographics are getting "bluer" by the day.
We have a Blue Governor!
We have the Blue Ridge Mountains!
We have Bluegrass!
By 7 PM EST we will have Blue Electors!
