2. We've got a long way to war, I'm afraid this is the first skirmish...
Gotta get Congress back.

Gotta get our airwaves back.

Gotta get hearts and minds back.

11. It has been a terrible journey. The last four years have been the
worst of my life. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think we would have had a dictator in this country. With Kerry I think I can relax. And not seeing that stupid face and stupid fake accent will help me live again.

Plus or minus a couple of points!

6. I'll never get over this.
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 05:25 PM by calmblueocean
I never would've believed a President could let the worst terrorist attack ever occur on his watch, send our men and women to war based on lies and manipulation, kill over 100,000 people, and still have the support of half the country. I just thought we more decent than that.

Hopefully we will be again.

8. Yeah
but as the 2 posters above me indicated - we do have a lot more work to do. I mean, the Patriot Act is one item that needs to be changed. We need to purge the far right nut cases out of positions of power.

9. It will go a long way towards doing so.
But IF he wins, we ABSOLUTELY CANNOT get apathetic again like we did after 1992. 1994 was a disaster.

12. I never lost my faith in America.
After all, we were right in 2000 but the election was stolen. The majority of America elected President Gore. I hope Kerry mentions him in his acceptance speech--2000 must have been the hardest moment in Gore's life.

14. I have always believed that, given a fair chance, the American...
public would right a grievous wrong, the selection in 2000. If Zogby is right: Kerry-311 electoral votes, my belief was well placed!

16. Yesbut
Yes, after all of the republican bs, I will have faith that more Americans have brains and caring than I thought. But, we are still using more energy than the rest of the world combined. And we are still housing our military troops in foreign countries. And too many people voted for Bush.
That all translates to YES.

17. The people, but not the news media
If our guys had not been absolutely stellar in the debates, if B/C hadn't been pretty awful, and if the news had not helped shine a harsh light on the reality of the misadministration, the so-called liberal media would've handed the bastards another 4 years.

So my faith in American voters has gotten a real boost, and my faith in a benevolent providence is back on track. But faith in the news media? HELL NO!! They will do everything they can to destroy a good, intelligent, decent, honest president (just like they did BEFORE). And if they can get another corrupt idiot murderer plutocrat in the WH to adore, they will suck up to him and cover up his flaws just like they did with this one.

18. Sorry ... but no ...
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 05:35 PM by welshTerrier2
i will rejoice if Kerry wins ... i would be devastated if we got stuck with bush again ...

but our problems run much, much deeper than who is President ...

when this election is over, no matter who wins, we have a mountain of work to do ... remember, almost half of the country is voting for bush ... our mass media is increasingly centralized and right-wing ... big money controls the political process ... we probably will still have a republican house and senate ... corporatism, racism, materialism, pollution, foreign competition and massive budget deficits ... sheesh, it would be nice to have my faith restored that these problems will see some real progress ... i just don't see it ...

20. I can't believe Bush was even a viable candidate.
I'm sorry, I just am incredibily depressed I live in a country where he even got through a primary.

There is a lot of work to do. It's just starting. Right now the start is looking damn good!

What would really restore my faith in America would be widespread support for national healthcare, and increased funding for education, and many other things...
