Just talked to a friend in CA
My buddy called me a few hours ago with some juicy stories, of the humorous/ironic nature.

He has some interesting photos and stories he will send me later today and I will post them here. He is a writer for a local magazine (with a great sense of humor) and he is out today collecting photos and info for a freelance piece he is writing. I laughed my butt off listening to some of it so it should be good.

Stories and photos aside, he told me that his conservative military neighbors had voted for kerry this morning. He asked them why; they said it wasnt about supporting the troops with promises, it was about supporting the troops with leadership. That line will resonate with me, I only wish I had heard it so plainly spoken before.

I think the military absantee ballots will prove surprising this time. I hope so.

5. A marine in NY was turned away
I wasn't there unfortunately. Something about his registration done months ago not being here. I bet it happened on the military end because our locals would be straight arrows about any registration much less his. he got the number to go see a judge so he will follow through all right.

Really weird. That will probably be the sole incident at out sedate backwater.
