Conrad Black resigns from Hollinger
2 November, 2004

Lord Black has resigned as chairman and chief executive of Hollinger Inc, clearing the way for the board to consider his offer to buy the firm.

He is fighting to keep control of his global media empire and faces legal challenges in the US and Canada.

There have been accusations of misusing and funnelling off funds from Hollinger International, publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times and The Jerusalem Post.

Lord Black, once one of the best-known media magnates, denies the charges.

I hope this is the first of many. Gee now where is that slimeball Richard Perle. Heading for a witness protection program maybe?
