I Want An Answer Please-IMPORTANT....
I am a Floridian with a good handle on voting patterns...

Can someone please tell me to a mathematical certainty if the EARLY VOTERS were included in the raw totals on the Secretary of State's page....

There's some counties with 0 votes reported...

Does that mean there were no early voters ?

Makes No Sense..

btw- Ken Mehlman said Orange County went Puke...Look again....

2. I don't know the answer, but I do know

the following in PBC (from their site):

Total Registration 729,575
Total Turnout 267,880 36.72%
Election Day Turnout 230,261 31.56%
Absentee Turnout 37,619 5.16%

When you do the math, it does NOT seem to count early voting, but DOES seem to count absentee ballots???? Makes no sense. Those early votes were all on the black boxes. It makes no sense to wait until Thursday to count them.

Edit: The figures have now changes again. http://www.pbcelections.org/ElectionResults/2004/General/Gen04_dtl.htm

4. I agree, the turnout figures are low

We ruled early voting around here. There is no way PBC turned out only 36 percent. Orange County turned out about 60 percent. I expect PBC to be much the same.

5. A volunteer from Florida posted earlier they are counted
but not reported until the polls close. Polls are closed. In counties reporting 0% they are still counting.

In counties reporting more than 0%, it includes early voting but not absentee and provisional.

6. I think most, if not all, of the early voting IS included
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 10:53 PM by AwsieDooger
I just got home and checked the Florida screen. It's already 5.7 million votes, about 200,000 less than 2000. My estimation going into this year was 6.7 million votes in Florida. If we are down by 250,000 votes with 1 million remaining, that's nearly impossible.

The key reference is the Castor/Martinez race. She is running significantly ahead of Kerry, about 4%, and that is the difference.

These states are using different types of equipment so Diebold is not the excuse. We got our numbers out of Broward. It is much more heavily Dem than Dade or Palm Beach. In looking at some of the earlier threads it seems DUers were projecting equal margin for Kerry in those counties as Broward. The best case in Miam-Dade was always +90-100,000.

This comes down to Ohio and elsewhere. Unfortunately, I believe the GOP may be correct, exit polls are undersampling Republicans across the country. AP is new at this and may not have a good model. Perhaps the party identification switch did occur and AP is still relying on that +3 Dem edge that wasn't there this time.

On edit: I see the other thread reporting 1.6 million uncounted absentee ballots. I am skeptical, since that would push turnout to freakish levels, near 8 million. Maybe that's possible. Earlier in the night when Republicans thought the returns would go against them they were counting on the absentee ballots in their favor. This deficit looks too big to overcome to me. Obviously I hope I'm way off.
