Did the early exit polls keep the young vote from turning out?

The young vote is unstable to begin with.

They also heavily use the internet more than newspapers and TV as their source of information.

The early exit polls suggested a possible landslide for Kerry.

Do you think the sneak peak at the early exit polls that were reported only on the internet hurt the Kerry camp by turning off the youth vote?

...many of the ones we dealt with in GOTV just couldn't deal with the waits they were facing.

2. honestly?

the youth vote just talked a big game but didnt deliver, not like it doesnt happen every election, every election we hear how the youth are going to come out big this time, and they dont.

What hurt more was that the middle aged people didnt quite turn out (30-44) IMO.

I doubt many of the 18-24 year olds stayed glued to political websites or TV news to read the exit polls before they decided the vote.

Frankly I don't know why they stayed home. As a person who has voted since I've been able to to, I just can't understand it.
