BBV/ Did Voting Machines trump exit polls?
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON Nov 3 2004 -- Did the voting machines trump exit polls? There’s a way to find out.

Black Box Voting (.ORG) is conducting the largest Freedom of Information action in history. At 8:30 p.m. Election Night, Black Box Voting blanketed the U.S. with the first in a series of public records requests, to obtain internal computer logs and other documents from 3,000 individual counties and townships. Networks called the election before anyone bothered to perform even the most rudimentary audit.

America: We have permission to say No to this. It is our right.

We call on every candidate not to concede. Don't play along. It is your right.

Among the first requests sent to counties (with all kinds of voting systems -- optical scan, touch-screen, and punch card) is a formal records request for internal audit logs, polling place results slips, modem transmission logs, and computer trouble slips.

Such a request filed in King County, Washington on Sept. 15, following the primary election six weeks ago, uncovered an internal audit log containing a three-hour deletion on election night; “trouble slips” revealing suspicious modem activity; and profound problems with security, including accidental disclosure of critically sensitive remote access information to poll workers, office personnel, and even, in a shocking blunder, to Black Box Voting activists.

1. MSNBC keeps reporting that there have been no problems...
with the electronic voting machines. Like, how exactly do they know that? Isn't that the issue with electronic voting? A few thousand votes are deleted or transferred and who would find out about it? The discrepancy between the exit polls and the votes reported is the best indication that something stinks.

They also have reported that there haven't been any challenges, with the implication that the whole election process has been honest. No mention of the voter registration or absentee ballot issues they have been reporting for the last couple of weeks. Haven't there been enough voter registration irregularities to mount a challenge?

2. Thats what should make us concerned. They are ignoring the Elephants.
Namely, the electronic voting and the voter suppression they have virtually dismissed and ignored.

so that should scream to us, HOW VALID IS THIS ELECTION?

3. Bev Harris, you go
Damn, she has been maniacal about this and she is one of our last hopes.

This is too close. We can use the electoral college against the right. Maybe Shrub can get a wider margin of victory than he did in 2000, but if he doesn't win the "right" states properly, he can lose the whole enchilada.

4. It looks like a sideshow STILL
Probably because the margin is beyond the normal reach of normal fraud investigations and remember, no one in the institutions or the media or our party has ever gotten their minds around the simplest parts of the BBV issue. That ground work never won out, the fraud is extremely difficult to prove. The SOS's LOVE that part.

"Anecdotal" stories. Of course taking pictures of voting screens and other observations are probably illegal under the ironic "protections" in place for voting "security".

Forgive me if I feel bitter about this, but David looks more like Don Quixote.

It is the dumbest simplest thing to state the basic danger of BBV. Judges don't get it. Victim politicians of thirty years don't get it. The media, well they never get anything except what they are told by their bosses.Scientists get it, but don't believe in voter fraud. No one would do that would they? Any money talked very nicely it's siren song of icebox voting machines in Alaska. Have the conmen really been that good? It's comforting to believe that at least but even there so much is simple greed glossing over shoddy crap with backdoors for their buddies.

We got some victories that make the current siituation actually more shameful, since now it is the crew of the Titanic ignoring that scraping noise against the ship of state. Rememeber Ohio wouldn't even be close had not the doofus President of Diebold made one arrogant comment revealing the worst fear was true.

9. Yes, there may be more learning for America.
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 03:35 AM by shance
Of course there is always more learning (hopefully*). Its when people shut off the valve to learning and being open to new ideas and thoughts that really concerns me.....like some Americans these days.

You know, the fact is we are a majority. If we choose to believe that, then we will realize that we represent mainstream.

I once again, want to say, its not about Democrat or Republican, its about fair elections.

I dont believe we have had a fair election in quite a few years. In the end, EVERY single American is affected by that. I don't believe this election has been a fair election, and it seems obvious there is alot of proof to back that accusation up.

Other than the votes that were tabulated electronically. We can essentially kiss those results buh bye.

Like I said, there will be alot to learn from this election.

5. I have a huge thread on this

I also contacted the other electronic freedom group similar to BlackBox Voting and gave them my analysis of exit polls vs observed results.

States with no audit trails on their EVoting were off by 5% in favor of Bush. Those with audit trails matched as expected.

Since this story broke, CNN has updated their site and Florida and other results have been changed. We need accurate and dependable exit poll data.

Throughout the day I sampled and ran the numbers, and they were polling consistently. Now after the story breaks (after 11pm PST) CNNs data is changing.

6. As we are seeing the electronic voting is once again the albatross.
I think there are many great lessons here, regardless of the outcome, of how we MUST have a paper ballot and that we must have more citizens involved in the counting process.

7. Let's call them all
Thank you this is our way of fighting back and we need a massive movement in the streets.

I have a few bucks leftover from my student loan and I would be willing to rent a van to take some people to wherever we need to go.

:kick:
