Humiliating Losses in the Senate- Just Awful
Can't believe we did so bad. They even beat Daschle. What the hell is going on. Record defecits under this congress and the country elects more of these repukes.

We obviously aren't doing something right. Terry has got to go

1. Yeah, well.
You're going to get that sort of thing in a fraudulent election. Worked every time for the communists in the USSR, dontcha know?

3. I won't even blame this on stolen elections
This is a majority of the people voting for one or two issues, and not a candidate or a referendum on a president's actions. We could have invaded Canada and these fundie bastards would still vote repug.

4. I was going to post a new thread on this
The numbers are really, really bad.

55-45. That's assuming Knowles and Castor lose, which I expect.

We won 2 senate seats. We couldn't even force LA to a fuckin run off. The FIRST republican senator in that state's history.

5. OK will say it again. Look at the demographics. Learn who lives in thos
red states. How long they have lived in those states, where they came from, how long they have been citizens. It's the best kept secrect the Republicans have going for them. Hispanics are not all like you think. Wealthy Vezuealans, Brazilians, and others running from the socialist S. American countries (like what happened in Cuba). Same for many of the Balkan countries and Russia. They flee here where they are welcome with open arms, resettled into area quietly and become the bulk of the "red states" they are mostly white and vote conservative and Republican. You have been misled to believe that the influx of immigrants favors Dems but this has been a lie since the fall of the USSR. Wake up. Learn your recent history and plan on how to use this information. Florida is your object lesson. While the media and the Republicans have your eyes and ears fixated on Mexican immigrants, the undeniably wealthy, white, racist, conservative immigrants are eating our panties in these elections.

Flame me if you must, but at least study the issue closely.

7. We can't depend on road wins
Second straight cycle we were kidding ourselves that deep red states like Oklahoma, South Carolina, North Carolina and Alaska would elect a Democrat. It's amazing we damn near won Kentucky.

In 2004 we are in better shape in terms of which states will be contested. Mostly we need to recruit great candidates in blue or even partisanship states, and restore those seats to our favor. It's just too damn bad we forfeited 5 southern seats at the same time. Incumbency could have held those. Yeah, Zell. Whatever.

8. Yeah I remember askin ya
just a day or two ago the same thing.

I feared this would happen...though not nearly this bad. I was hoping we could take at least one..say Castor or Daschle winning again.

But I knew the odds were against us. These are SOLID republican states. Bush did better in every one of those states than he did 4 years ago.

55-45...God, at least when it was deadlocked there was some ability to challenge Bush (say on judicial nominees).

Damn.
