EXIT POLLS--since WHEN are they all wrong?
Since 2000 in Florida?

I will NEVER believe an authentic Bush victory when most exit polls show a Kerry victory, but magically we are being told not to believe our own ears and that the good people at Diebold/George's brother's state departmenet/etc. have it all under control.

Unless exit polls have a history of being wrong (in which case why did we use VNS for so long)??

4. So why isn't anyone USING this??
I mean, how hard is it to say "The exits have worked for XX years and all of a sudden they're wrong, but ONLY in contested states called for Bush"??

3. the fact that it was in states the Republicans mostly focused
on preventing Democratic voters from voting says a lot also.

7. All I'm hearing this morning on the corporate controlled media
is that the exit polls were wrong and * "won" the popular vote. Okay--two questions:

1) Why were the exit polls so wrong???? Why isn't anyone asking the questions why and how about that?

2) Gore won the popular vote four years ago. Something the press seems to have developed amnesia about this morning.

You know--maybe if they did their job, this country wouldn't be in the mess that we're in this morning.

5. Didn't Skinner want to prevent posting of exit polls earlier Tues because
they are known to be unreliable?

6. Never seen it
I've seen exit polls that were a point or two off the final outcome, but it's pretty bizarre that Slate said Kerry was winning nationally 51 - 48 and that's end up being the margin Bush wins by.

8. It's only since 2000 that we've had exit poll "problems"...

Prior to that, the only wrong call I ever remember was a Senate race in, I think, 1996. And that call was reversed within an hour or so.

Then in 2000, there was that creepy appearance by La Famiglia Bush telling the networks that their Florida projection was wrong, which intimidated the nets into rescinding their call.

And I gotta say, the VNS meltdown on the afternoon of Election Day 2002 set off my BS detector as well.

Finally, there's yesterday. My gut feeling is that if the Kerry people don't have cold hard evidence of massive fraud, American democracy is dead.

As. A. Doornail.
