1. yes, exit polls showed why/how Edwards gained in Wisconsin during primary
remember how it was a surprise gain for Edwards and although he didn't win he still came very close to Kerry in Wisconsin ?
the exit polls helped show it was because of the republicans/independents who ended up voting for Edwards which helped him do better than expected. that number that edwards gained by was similar to the number of undecideds in the poll which had shown kerry ahead by a lot. so it wasn't that kerry had lost support. it was that edwards picked up most of the support from those who were undecided at the last moment.
