What must they be thinking about us around the world?
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 08:41 AM by derbstyron
All of these bastards that voted for the shrub.A bunch of fundamentalist right wing freaks who are going to convert every one or kill them.
After all the deaths, the vanishing budget surplus, the torturing, his awful performance during the debates.
How embarrassing. :(

1. bush is the #1 most hated man in the world.
And we were exempt from that hatred.

Now we aren't.

Americans will now be the #1 most hated people in the entire world.

I'd suggest no travelling for any reason to anywhere outside the USA.

2. A "Global Test"
Our own election. Do we support the Neocon Empire-Building Agenda ?

Surprise Surprise, we failed. In their eyes we are as guilty as he is.

3. i'm feeling for you all
I'm from England and feel absolutely devastated this morning (the situation + not getting any sleep!)
But I cant' even begin to imagine what you all must be feeling today. Nothing I can say can make it any better. Just sorry.
I get the feeling that there is nothing that you could have done anyway. Conspiracies are getting the better of me this morning. It seems ‘they’ are determined to destroy your country. It is clear that the sheep haven’t a clue! Maybe they need to hurt for 4 more years before their eyes will open. We can only hope.
Best wishes from this side of the pond

12. Thanks. It reminds me of what that jerk Nader said - that the only
way change and reform will ever come is if it just gets really abominably bad, and we REALLY scrape bottom. Maybe he's correct? I sort of figured we'd hit bottom already.

Yeah, I'm worried. This will widely be viewed as "the people have spoken, and THIS now IS the mandate bush only pretended to have before. Now he really has one." Which means, it can be read as the American people approving of wars based on lies, against enemies we didn't really have, who weren't the threat we claimed they were. And nobody held accountable for any of it. It's all just fine. And who needs that separation of church and state - that's so sixties. Only dirty hippies and commies believe that stuff, 'eh? It'll be viewed as - "yes, we LIKE 'yeee-HAW!' as a foreign policy. Yes, we LIKE that swaggering 'my way or the highway' arrogance. Yes, we LIKE launching crusades in the Middle East, and now it'll be officially sanctioned as okay to call it a crusade, too. Yes, all that stuff he was doing, and the verbal idiocy and the avoidance of reading and the discouragement and suppression of all views other than the favored ones - hey, we LIKE that. That's how it's s'posed to be. 9/11. Praise the Lord!"

I'm SERIOUSLY concerned that this is how they'll see us, now, and they'll react accordingly. And all the good will of the world toward us after September 11th - we may not see again. Before that, we were sympathetic. Now they're likely to say we simply made our bed, and now we get to lie in it. I do NOT look forward to the "I told you so's."

11. What must they be thinking of us around the world?
That we are a bunch of idiot mother-fuckers who endorse a president who attacks countries that did nothing to us and posed no threat to us, that we don't give a shit about fiscal responsibility or being a decent neighbor to other countries. That we subscribe to the republican screw you I got mine philosophy.

Which would be wrong about me and mine and almost everyone here and all the people who voted for Kerry, but it matters not. In the eyes of the world, we are idiot dumb shits who don't know our asses from a hole in the ground.
