Say Goodbye To Roe V. Wade, Social Security, Public Schools, Clean Air
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 11:35 AM by Beetwasher
Clean water, national forests. Say goodbye to any hope of saving the planet from environmental disaster. Say goodbye to equal rights, freedom of speech, separation of church and state. Say goodbye to good science, funding for stem cell research. Say goodbye to peace and prosperity and security. Say goodbye to any parts of the constitution that Bush doesn't like. And on and on and on.

Goodbye America. It was nice knowing you.

I will stay here, I will fight, but this country, unfortunately, is about to get exactly what it deserves.

3. Good Luck!
I will stay and tough it out. Thankfully, I live in NY, so I think I should be ok, at least for the short term. I feel for my brothers and sisters in other less friendly states though.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. I'm staying and fighting.

6. There Really Wasn't A Vote This Time
Only the illusion of one. I suspect that's all we will have from now on. A bone thrown to peasants to make them feel as if they have a voice so they don't get overtly violent.

7. It's Already Been Happening
It will certainly accelarate now...Funding for science will start drying up and start being given to faith based groups.

who had contingency plans.

It's not like this was something that hit out of the blue.

8. Yeah, I guess there will be no healthcare plan to debate about...
no executive orders clearing up mercury, etc.; in short, nothing to help the people of this country.

I wonder how long it will be before they reintroduce the OVERTIME PAY screw job.

I guess there won't be any more extensions of unemployment benefits, either.

WHO CARES, right????

They should be crossing the border in Iran just about summer of '05.

I blame 9 out of 10 voters between 18-29. Where were you?!?

11. I say, let's go crazy with it
Put all their crazy-assed shit on the ballot in every state. Ten Commandments, prayer in school, creationism, eliminate unions, cut all social programs, vouchers, all of it. Maybe shock the people into realizing what's happening.

17. More likely, it will shock moderate republicans
Actually, I think the republican party is still in for a tumultuous time. The fiscal conservatives and libertarians in the party are not happy with the right-wing agenda of the administration as it is, and certainly won't like to see it pushed any farther.

I hate to say it, but with the way congress went in this election, the moderate republicans might be our last hope to stop the Bushies.

14. Yep!
The Plame investigation will go by the wayside. The 9/11 commission report will never be fully divulged. The Supreme Court will be stacked with wingers for the balance of at least my lifetime.

The one bright spot that I am clinging to is that they can't blame the Democrats for anything that happens. There is effectively no Democratic representation throughout our govermment.

21. Say goodbye to Lawrence vs Texas
The next Supreme Court will make overturning this decision a priority. Sodomy will be criminalized again. And there goes gay marriage. And we're relegated to second class citizenship. Permanently.

Thanks, America. Thanks a whole fucking lot.

31. My point is that the funding will be there
There is no desire from Republicans to end stem cell research funding. There is a lot of money to be made by the big drug companies if the research leads to a breakthrough.

32. No
The funding will not be there (not federally anyway), I can almost guarantee it.

Big drug companies don't need federal funding for their research, they have their own money (thought they do get some). The people that need the federal funds work at universities, NGO's and hospitals etc. This is my field, I know what I'm talking about, take it for what it's worth, but you're wrong. Federal funding for this research is about to dry up considerably, not to mention there is now no chance of opening up new lines for study w/ whatever federal funds are left. This research is about to go belly up in this country and the scientists in this field (and many others for that matter) will be leaving in droves. Mark my words, it's already happening.

the Constitution, that is.

We don't need no steenking rules in our empire. L'etat c'est moi. Ooops, bush would never say that. It's French, but I'm sure he's though it in English (or what passes for it in his peabrain).
