Al Gore?
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 04:59 PM by WI_DEM
Al Gore won the 2000 election in the popular vote. He decided to not run in 2004. He could still run in 2008 following the Nixon example. Nixon lost a squeeker in 1960. Decided not to challenge Johnson in 1964. And ran again after 8 Democratic years in 1968 and won.

I'm not endorsing Gore, necessarily, but it isn't out of the rhelm of possibility that he may run again in 2008.

2. unlikely, i see Edwards or Mark Warner
maybe Evan Bayh, but his stand on opposition to late term abortion would pretty much end his campaign in the primary unless he changed his position on that.
