We saw for the past few years how Diebold's machines constantly broke down and gave wrong results. And we've seen that the exit polls don't match the "official" results precisely in the areas that don't have voter-verified paper ballots.
We've seen the Republicans lie repeatedly.
Why does everyone assume "we lost" or "we screwed up"?
James Wolcott predicted Kerry 55% and Bush 45%, based on the Nickelodeon poll, which is usually very accurate because kids naturally reflect how their parents feel. Gallup had K and B neck-and-neck, which we now know translates to a 5-percentage-point advantage for the Dem given Gallup's skewed polling samples.
I'm sorry, but I honestly think this "election" is an illusion produced by distorted media reports, stacked polls and rigged voting machines. The Democrats had/have a great message and people responded to it in droves. Too bad nobody can prove whether those Diebold touchscreens actually recorded everyone's votes accurately.
Thousands of computer bites and bytes are a lot easier to "lose" than thousands of paper ballots. Too bad so many people are so blinded by technology that they fail to suspect this.
