Why does anyone believe in the voting machines?
We saw for the past few years how Diebold's machines constantly broke down and gave wrong results. And we've seen that the exit polls don't match the "official" results precisely in the areas that don't have voter-verified paper ballots.

We've seen the Republicans lie repeatedly.

Why does everyone assume "we lost" or "we screwed up"?

James Wolcott predicted Kerry 55% and Bush 45%, based on the Nickelodeon poll, which is usually very accurate because kids naturally reflect how their parents feel. Gallup had K and B neck-and-neck, which we now know translates to a 5-percentage-point advantage for the Dem given Gallup's skewed polling samples.

I'm sorry, but I honestly think this "election" is an illusion produced by distorted media reports, stacked polls and rigged voting machines. The Democrats had/have a great message and people responded to it in droves. Too bad nobody can prove whether those Diebold touchscreens actually recorded everyone's votes accurately.

Thousands of computer bites and bytes are a lot easier to "lose" than thousands of paper ballots. Too bad so many people are so blinded by technology that they fail to suspect this.

1. that's the $24,000 question
and -- I almost NEVER base anything on a person's post count because I think 9 times out of 10 it doesn't mean much, but I can't help noticing this time how many of those postulating numerous (and divisive) theories about why we "lost" have low post counts. I mean I have never even seen most of these people before.

2. Yeah, Mind Boggling
People just do not want to entertain that very uncomfortable notion.

3. How many elections will we lose before Dems start getting this?
Part of the problem I see is how clean the theft is with BBV. Everyone knew the 2000 election was stolen because it was messy. 2002 wasn't obvious to the public at large because it was in Georgia (only state I'm aware of). Even though everyone was watching this one, not many saw the theft. My dad is a perfect example. He believes 2000 was stolen, but doesn't see this election that way. The media is no help whatsoever, but the Dems aren't much help either.

Someone (can't remember who) on another thread said Michael Moore's next movie should be about Diebold. I couldn't agree more. We need to go mainstream with this shit.

4. believe
I don't think this election was won by Bush. I think this inbred bastard stoled another election. I seen the same exit polls that showed Kerry winning then did a 180 towards Bush. I am in disbelief that people here in Ohio voted for that piece of shit Bush.
