We MUST take on these 'Moral Value' Issues. HEAD ON.

On Abortion
Why is it ok for them to call us baby killers and post billboards with aborted fetuses on them, but why can't play ads or post billboards reminding people of backalley abortions? I propose a hardcore ad campaign letting the country know the consequences of a prohibition on abortion.

On Gay Marriage
Why is it they can spew the only line of the bible (Where one man lies with another man he is an abomination of God and surely must be put to death), but we are afraid to remind them of all the other lines of that book of Leviticus that points out all the other 'abominations' many of us are guilty of (masturbation, marrying a non-virgin, wearing clothes of more than one fiber ie polyester). I propse another ad campaig showing the hypocrisy of these people.
Also, on gay marriage, we must concede to accept 'civil unions' as marriage isn't going to happen for some time. But is MUST be pointed out that it is time for people worrying about their OWN marriages and the OWN lives instead of sticking their noses is other people's.

On Stem Cell
I think we are doing good with this. Most of the country agrees. Just continue to point out that no 'baby' is ever killed for the purpose of a stem cell. Many (I would think) are babies that have died during pregnancy for hundreds of reasons other than abortion.


I really think we must have a dialogue on what OUR moral values are and take them head on with theirs. I still think ours makes more sense to the average american. We are just afraid to aggressively explain ours for fear of pissing people off. They dont worry about pissing US off, and THEY won.
There are many other 'moral value' issues than the above, and would love to hear some and your take on how it should be conveyed to 'redefine' the democratic party.

Every time those fuckers start in about the sad plight of other people's fetuses, we need to hit them hard with images of their OWN victims. They are STRANGERS to morality.

then I think we ought to talk about Values.

I think we need to do more than put up some pictures and talk about the consequences of banning safe and legal abortions. That's logic and reason, not values, and we've seen how well logic and reason work.

A value is "protecting the defenseless". Talk about the young women, still children really, who get into trouble and end up dying because the shame, or the fear of telling their parents.

With stem cells, talk about the value of all those lives that could be saved, or even just improved. Talking about where the stem cells came from is more facts and logic, and only makes people think of icky medical stuff.

If you're going to talk about values, talk about values.

Saving lives is good

Protecting the weak and defenseless is good.

Killing a people in a blind rage because their skin is a shade darker - NOT good.

America needs to realize, and we need to help them see it, that morals and values stretch beyond just abortion and gay marriage.

The fucking Republicans love to harp on these issues, but the Bible also talks about helping out the poor, taking care of the sick, and treating everyone equally.

Right now, the Republicans do not give a shit about the poor. They could care less about helping this group out.

They are against providing health insurance for all Americans.

And they are not treating everyone equally as evident by pay gaps between women and minorities and legislation like the Patriot Act.

These are serious moral and values isssues that Republicans never talk about. Why? Because those assholes realize that it does not take a damn dime to talk about abortion and gay marriage. And you reap the benefits on the first Tuesday in November.

But they avoid the questions I have brought up because that actually takes a damn dime out of their paycheck...and what would be so awful, in spite of what the Bible says.
