2. Here's to Illinois
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 01:01 AM by cheryl_d
my state of birth, where I lived the first 18 years of my life and where I would still live if I could handle the winters. Illinoisians, you should be SO PROUD!!! You elected Barak Obama, went for John Kerry and John Edwards, and kicked Phil Crane to the curb.

Well done! :toast:

6. Empty Feelings Here
I'm elated over our new Senator and we were one of the few districts that also got rid of some Repugnican dead weight...Phil Crane with Progressive Melissa Bean. I got 2 out of 3...but that #3 is the one that hurts...plus in all the backstabbing and fighting I've seen here.

Very very empty.

7. I am ashamed to be an American
But I am proud to be in Illinois.

I don't like what this country has become.

Here in Illinois the entire State government is Democratic (except Judy, and she resigned as head Republican out of disgust for her party), both State Houses have Democratic majorities, we have two Democratic Senators and a bunch of vocal Democrats in Congress and there was never a doubt that Illinois would go to Kerry. And we did all that with the same crappy media, no AAR and our share of voting problems (Michael Moore's site showed Illinois in the second highest category in terms of voting problems and the state has some of the BBV machines).

Why did we see the light and not much of the rest of the country? You know what really sucks? The unenlightened rest of the country means Illinois has to live under the same dictatorial regime as they choose.
