1. I have studied the Roman games.
They had a hard time getting the big cats to fight and kill. There was one class of gladiator that specialized in killing the big cats with bare hands.

The animal of choice by far the most dangerous killer was the Hippo. They were virtual killing machines even against armed opponents.

Sadly this is what ended the European and North African species of Lion and Hippo.

In time I would not be surprised to see the games revived on reality television, there have been some recent attempts at re-enactment in Europe. Bull fighting is our closest modern version. The prime function of the games was to take the interest of the masses off of politics especially with the decline of the Roman Republic. Sound familiar?

2. Thanks for the laugh!
I am so sick of being on the side that is supposedly immoral. The so called Christians in these groups that hate us do not know the meaning of true Christianity. My husband delivered something to a client on the way to work today, the guy saw his Kerry sticker read the riot act to him. His 16 year old son came out of the house and had crosses tattooed on both arms, I guess his dad is proud of that. My husband is waiting to see if he stops doing business with the company.
