Two major forms of avoidable Stupid Politics.
Number One: Engage in Class Action attacks on the supporters of a given Democratic candidate for their collective lack of judgement, colective lack of maturity, collective lack of knowledge, and collective lack of committment to Truth Justice and the Democratic Way.

Number Two: Engage in Attacks on a Democratic candidate because of the statements and/or actions of one or more self designated supporters of that Candidate, assuming those individuals are not actually on the campaign pay roll. Statements by a campaign spokesperson are of course fair game for some attacks and thus not subject to Rule Number Two.

Some may say that Democrats attacking a Democratic Party Candidate is Stupid Politics also, and undoubtably sometimes it is. However I leave that for a discussion of individual instances, since the definition of an "attack" is harder to pin down when the candidates themselves are overtly asking for a show of confidence in their qualifications to hold office, and are directly appealing for votes.

I think the above Two Rules however should be self evident but unfortunately obviously aren't.

The stupid part is BELIEVING quotes taken out of context. It is sometimes smart, though unethical, poitics to try that trick because it works so often. The down side for getting caught at trying it seems far less than the potential upside of getting away with it, For the record I despise that type of politics.

I see almost no conceivable political upside though in attacking en masse the supporters of a cadndiate for example. What will that accomplish I wonder?

I wouldn't mind seeing a thread generically listing sleeze ball political tactics, even the ones that are effective.

2. Third form of avoidable stupid politics

Supporting Dumbya and the GlOPs in their latest major, massive, universe-altering success within the first few days of supposed success. Waiting a week would allow the real truth of supposed action to leak out (usually from British HQ) and avoid the embarrassment of public grandstanding/asskissing of Dumbya over supposed thermonuclear weapon capture when what was actually captured was 7 microwave burritos.

Dumbya: "...Colin says microwaves are radiation. Thermo. Heat. Microwaves heat things. There's no difference..."
