for those of you who want to be pro-active and change the world working through the system, kudos. more power to you. if we only had more confucians like you who were power. for the rest of us who want to vent a little how about this:
Let's just ignore the holidays.
That's right, no Thanksgiving, no Christmas, No Dirvali, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, New Year's, etc. Don't go on the big debt laden shopping spree. Don't fork over money to buy enough food to feed a regiment. Don't buy decorations, cards, holiday entertainment, etc. Sure buy a gift or two for the young kids, they're young they can't figure out what's going on, but for the rest -- no gifts, nada.
If we are *only* just the 'smaller half of america' let's see how they like it when we refuse to have our annual consume-a-thons. we're *only* just 'the smaller half' what harm could we cause from refusing to participate in the most important shopping quarter for most businesses. let's see how weak and irrelevant we are when our money isn't circulating during a crucial time.
... and the best part is you get to avoid annoying family, have a more sane and intimate season, and save money to boot (never know when you might need it later). so, let's Ignore the Holidays!
