Poll question: Would You Support Hillary Clinton For President In 2008?
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 06:21 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
I pray that Hillary and Bill Clinton have the wisdom to look at the Electoral College map and realize there is no strategy for her getting 270 Electoral College Votes which is the whole point of running....

My greatest fear is she steamrolls the opposition in the primaries because of her name recognition and we are left with a lemon in the Fall....

on edit-of course i know just about everybody here would support her if she was the nominee... i'm referring to her running...

3. I wouldn not vote for her in the primaries
She's my senator and I'll vote for her for that as long as she wants to run. If she wants to be governor, I'd welcome that. I do not want to see her running for president, ever.

6. hard decision
I like her and would vote for her in a second. BUT the right has it in for her more than I'll bet they have it in for anyone else, so at least at this point in time, I would prefer that she not run. If we thought the smear machine was in overdrive during THIS election, imagine what it will be like then.

I would vote against her in the primaries, but support her wholeheartedly if she becomes the nominee.

7. There should be 2 questions here.
Would you support her for the nomination? (No for me)

Would you vote for here if she were the nominee? (Yes, I would)

She'd be a very hard sell to both the left and right. The repukes know that, so they love to promote the idea.

12. of course I'd vote for her
but she's more polarizing in red states than Kerry ever was or was cartooned into being by Rove & co. I want Bayh with a guy like Biden in the VP slot.

13. I would not choose her in my state's primary
There is no way Hillary can win the White House in '08. If this most recent electoral travesty doesn't make that obvious, I don't know what will.

14. I like her,but some think she's to the left of John Kerry
Of course, fact is that she's a moderate, but the media has tried to portray her as liberal. By media, I mean people like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly.
So, we need to start with a clean state and pick a governor. Senators can easily be portrayed as inconsistent, as evidenced by how the right attacked John Kerry for being a flip-flopper.

15. As they said on Air America . . .
If middle America couldn't identify with the tall white war hero, surely they'll go for the New York career woman or the black guy with the terrorist name. ;-)

16. Yes, I'd support her and, yes I'd vote for her if I could
In 4 years time the economy will be a train wreck, the deficit will be a big black hole, unemployment will be rising and the Iraq War will be consuming the lives of young Americans. Middle America will be desperate for a change and possibly will lean towards us. Hillary knows what it's like for the right-wing to go after her and she's survived and outsmarted them. She might be just what we need, a good campaigner.

18. The GOP could run Charles Manson and still win ...
The United States of Ignorance and Fear is simply not ready for a female president (present squatter aside) ... and they are definitely not ready for an exceptionally intelligent and strong woman as president.
