To people who think Hillary Clinton is "too divisive"
remember, Ronald Reagan was about the most divisive, far-right and discredited politician in the country in '76. He was a national joke.

A lot can change in 4 years.

It's Clinton or Bayh for me in '08.

2. sounds good to me
I don't get the people who worry that too many people hate her. Of COURSE they hate her! She's intelligent, accomplished, and is a threat to them.

Do we do any better with candidates we think they'll like? The republicans never worried about whether OUR side hates their candidate - in fact, they thrive on it.

4. of course she will
Can you think of any Democrat who won't have to do that?

The fact is, Gandhi could run and they would trash him. It DOESN'T matter who the candidate is in this regard.

5. Divisive? No. Demonizable - Yes.
Look at the hash the UnChristian Right made of the reputation of a bona fide war hero. Imagine what they'd do to Hillary.

Further - and I feel strange saying this - I'm not sure Hillary would make all that effective of a President. She's just too nice. I think we need a real fire-breather unafraid to tell the truth, even when it isn't the most politically expedient. In four years I think people will be looking for that.

My money's on Howard Dean.

6. No offense
but it is insane to think Howard Dean cannot be demonized.

WHOEVER the candidate is will be demonized. They turned Al Gore, known for his strait-lacedness, into a liar. They turned the war hero John Kerry into a cheating fraud who lied about his medals.

It is incredibly naive to think any candidate won't be targeted by their vicious lies.

7. I'm sure she's a fine candidate except for one thing
She's got a shitload of negative baggage before she even approaches the gate. Not with me, but with that crowd that thinks the his chimperial majesty is a 'moral' specimen.
