Picking a candidate for '08
there is a lot of talk of who to pick for '08 which has caused some acrimony.

It is a complete waste of time. If we name a candidate now, we give the GOP 4 full years to demonize him/her. But more importantly we have NO idea where the country will be in 2008. We might have some hero distinguish himself or herself between then and now. We might be in a place where environmental or domestic issues are paramount.

Let's wait to pick our man/woman when we know what the country needs/will respond to. Right now it seems like a useless exercize that is only causing strife.

Our number one job is to keep the unity we have now and build on it. We came closer to winning in percentage and number of votes than we have in a long time. We did it by being united.

Stay united, find the message then stay on message.

1. How About Discussing How We Save Senate Seats in 2006?
Close only counts in handgranade and horseshoes, not elections. Losing is losing.

Right now there's an emboldended Repugnican party that has two years of non-stop control of all branches of this government and will be looking for even more in 2006.

There are people like Ben Nelson, the lone Democrat in Nebraska, who is going to be targetted like Daschele was. Moderate Democrats are in serious danger in many areas as the GOOP will roll out both the big cash and the slime and fear machines and put our backs further to the wall.

Unless there's regrouping and setting 2006 priorities real soon we could face veto proof and fillibuster proof GOOP supermajorities in both houses.

Time to wake up around here.
