Donna Brazille for head of DNC
The rumor is she may want the job. It's time we put a black women in an important position. It comes a time when you need to not just talk about supporting minorities, it is time to show we mean it.

1. Aww hell naw!!
I'm all for a fellow black chick to head the DNC, but not her.

She thinks Karl Rove is a friendly foe.

Yuck plus.

27. I'm another black woman who does not want Donna. She is not
very effective on TV. She's a great organizer, but she doesn't communicate well enough - the right wing bullies always smack her around!

40. I agree. Personally I'd like Maxine Waters but conventional Dems
are probably afraid of her. What about Carol Moaely Braun.

2. If we're going to put a black woman in charge of the DNC
she needs to have a better track record of success and a history of showing more fire and grit than Donna Brazille.

4. Yea, we need a Maxine Waters type

or someone like Cynthia McKinney.

I would love to have an African American in that position. I just can't think of any , other than Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton that are not in Congress.

Can someone give me other names?

Carol Mosley Braun is a classy lady but we need someone that is a pit bull.

Donna Brazille is too Rove like for me.

She is a brightlady but she disappoints me on CNN.

Not that I think she's the best candidate, but compare her to Shrum, fer***sakes.

Too bad they are busy in Congress.

on edit. Not too bad, they are doing great and we need them there. Too bad Donna isn't more like them.

23. Sheila Jackson Lee??? FUCK NO!
She actually has a terrible reputation on the hill. Never saw a camera she didn't like. Voted two times in a row by all of the Hill Staffers (90% total Dems AND Repugs) as the biggest windbag in the House. She never raises money, either for herself or for others.

Did I mention she's turned over her staff like 3 times since she took office?

This concludes my rant.

9. Not her!
Yeah, yeah...some claim she "won" the election for Gore (in number of votes, etc.) and in name only. But it was a lackluster campaign that came down to the wire, etc. And she is so damned chummy with the GOP types. I don't trust her.

11. We need brilliance, not Brazille
I don't know the name. Just isolate someone, preferably young and energetic and visionary, who understands it is message and fire and clarity and expanding the playing field. Somehow. Reclaiming 1% here and there is worth more than all the money McAuliffe ever raised.

Donna Brazille is like a 9-7 head football coach. I've heard her a thousand times and she's not special enough. Sorry.

16. No f*n way!
I'm sure there are plenty of ways we could show that we support minorities without firing the final shot that would FOR SURE kill the Democratic party.

Donna Brazille is completely useless to the party. I have NEVER seen her on any talk show or in any forum where she didn't get shouted down and lose her message in the melee. She just does NOT have what we need in a DNC Chair.

They went heavily for Bush.. AND the voters there rejected removing racist language from their state constitution!

They've handed to us a talking point on a silver platter, and we're going to let it sit out and go cold. No wonder we lose.

33. Right Size, Wrong Shape
I like the idea of getting more blacks involved in the workings of the party...these folks have been the salvation for the Democrats in recent elections. Without them there wouldn't be the big margins in the Blue states and the party wouldn't have gotten as close in Ohio & Florida...and a group that was all but ignored during the last campaign. Keep ignoring them at our own peril. We need someone who can help get these folks out to the polls and work to make sure their votes count.

I think Kwame Nfume of the NAACP might fit this bill better. He's a former Congressman and head of the CBC and an incredible organizer.

I want no more nice ladies. No more Donna Brazile. No more Mary Beth Cahill.

I want a baracuda.

If you want a woman of color in that slot, how about Dr. Susan Rice?

That woman has smarts and is fearless.

It IS time for Dems to capitalize on the moral authority of those who have fought for civil rights and Democratic values.
