but he doesn't have a position. It would be hard to run in 2008 when his last stint in public office ended in 2002

24. the election for Gov is in 2006

I'd like to see him run for Governor.
But after what they did to him last time, when he was running for re-election, I don't know if he'd want too.

But I'd back him, if he wanted to.

IMO we are in dream land thinking about a candidate now.

According to CNN, the only candidate that we could support in '08 would be a democratic Jerry Farwell.

I refuse to dream when the dream is being deferred for FREE and FAIR elections.

That is our first priority.

He's a constant reminder of how great a person can be. He sacraficed so much for this country, but he came back and spent a career working to make it better.

The 2002 election will forever be a reminder to me of how pathetic the other side can be. It will also be a reminder to me that the other side, no matter how often they use the term, truly lacks compassion and understanding of this great country.

Cleland would be a great President. I'd vote for him.

28. Cleland running again and WINNING in GA could well prove

that Dems can win again. If you look at it another way, he's been down this path once, and lost. The fight wasn't fair in any way, shape, or form. I am sure reasonable people (and yeah, they do exist, even in GA)would want to see the wrong of the last election righted, given a second chance.

If Cleland has the stomach for the fight again (and I can NOT hold him in bad stead if he doesn't) I think he could actually turn it around and win.

Mind you, I am not in GA and am unfamiliar with local/state GA politics. My comments here are simply based on my own assessment of human nature.
