Rainbow-PUSH Leader Says Kerry Conceded Too Quckly
Saturday, November 06, 2004, 8:29 p.m.
By Bob Roberts
WBBM Newsradio 780

- CHICAGO -- The Reverend Jesse Jackson is criticizing Sen. John Kerry for conceding Tuesday's election, and the Democratic Party for concentrating its presidential campaign in a handful of states.

Speaking at the weekly Rainbow/PUSH meeting, Rev. Jackson said, "Mr. Kerry has conceded too quickly."

He said in Ohio and in other states, there were still irregularities to check, absentee votes to count, provisional ballots to consider, and challenges to be mounted against the poll challengers.

Rev. Jackson said he considers the GOP poll challengers, who targeted heavily-Democratic precincts in Ohio, to be blatantly racist.

***

Finally someone calling themselves a Democratic in a position of power that I've agreed with since November 3rd.

1. Thank you Jessie
He's a man from the Old School - that's why he has the courage and energy to speak up.

2. At last!
May he inspire others to speak out.

Who wants to belong to a party that doesn't defend itself?

6. Carville said something similar, Donna Zen ...
I can't recall which book it was in, but he said something like 'Who's gonna think the Democrats are strong on defense when they won't even defend themselves from Republican attacks ?'

Point well noted, Mr. Carville.

4. Kick
If we lost this one, and are ever going to win another election again in a divided country, we must make every vote count.

Election reform is the only way to take this country back, ultimately.

My husband pointed out that in urban areas (mostly Dem) they have more people, more lines, less easy access to voting. How much dedication do we expect from people that have to work all day and then go vote by waiting in line six hours to be challeenged and THEN not have their vote count? Or to forever be unsure?

The rural areas(mostly Rep) have NO lines, are let's face it-White- population and are not being threatened. Rich people can take all day to vote if need be. Every one of their votes you can bet was counted.

Disturbed to say I can't get this up now-don't know if that's just me or that I've to sign for membership?

5. I voted for Kerry. Or did I?
I waited in a long line in the rain in Franklin county. I voted using a paperless electronic machine, the exact same kind that gave Bush almost 4,000 extra votes in Franklin county. So, who can tell me who did I really vote for?
