Pennsylvania is a swing state. Rendell is a Governor and former Mayor. He doesn't come across as a wimp either. He might be a good candidate for President or Vice President on a future ticket.
1. I love the guy, but he's not red county material
Rendell, too, has been known to spout what he has described as "earthy and salty" remarks. His escapades are legendary. Most famously, in an off-the-cuff 1994 interview with Philadelphia Magazine reporter Lisa DePaulo, he likened his appetites to those of President Clinton, jokingly telling the reporter she should strip after she set off a metal detector and graphically speculating about how she would act in bed. The city fathers were not amused.
is the consummate politician. He has all the right connections, and he knows where every skeleton resides in each closet. He must have been at every Kerry rally in PA. I knew him back when he was mayor of Philly, and spent every waking hour out and about with the constituents. The mark of a real politician. But I don't know about national office....just don't know.
4. I like Rendell but a lot of people hate him even in Philly.
The Teachers, Police and Firemen especially hate him for fucking them so bad in the 90's. Plus he has a ton of skeletons in the closet with affairs and whatnot. Wouldn't make it nationally.
He's got charisma and an optimistic personality, smart and down to earth. Probably smart and savvy enough to know more than anyone he wouldn't measure up under the scrutiny.
7. No!!! Not Rendell!! He was the first one to vehemently....
tell Al Gore to concede!!! He was chairman of the DNC at the time! This was even before the USCC decision giving the election to Bush! Hell No!!!! Not Rendell!!!!!! I can't stand him!!!!
