Gonzales is UNACCEPTABLE!

Well, I've had enough of the post-election angst and re-criminations and (since this discussion is unnamed) perhaps a call to arms is in order.

It's time to get back in the fight. The WaPo reports Bush is nominating Gonzales for Attorney General.

Unacceptable. Gonzales was the White House apologist for the indiscriminate torture of prisoners of war.

I've expressed my objections to my Senators and to my hometown paper.
I suggest you do the same.

Better to fight a battle over a lifetime appointment than a 4 year one. We are the minority and this is not the right fight to have.

Think "torture" and "Attorney General" No question we've got to fight.

I'm not asking anyone to camp out in Lafayette Park for a week. Just take a minute or two and e-mail your freakin' Senators for crissake!

why bother fighting? It needs to get worse before it gets better. We ain't hit rock bottom yet because the Democrats keep protecting the Republicans from themselves. Let him appoint his neo-nazi AG, let the country see the folly of their ways.

In light of this appointment, the media should cough up (or leak) the prison torture photos it refused to publish.

If so, the common narrative in the press should be:

Caucaisian President Bush nominated Hispanic Gonzales for Attorney General, usually taken up by Caucasian males.

You're going to see a lot more of this behavior as bush's 2nd term enters the "legacy" phase.

I know he wrote those memos about the Geneva convention, but he also upheld an appeals court ruling that over-ruled the parental notification laws in TX.

What do you expect in any nominee from shrub? He's going to nominate people who support his views, not ours. We would accept nothing less from our Dem President.

I agree with those who say pick your fights and this isn't one of them.

consider Gonzales "OK" or "better than Ashcroft," etc. Man, I despise Ashcroft, and I hate him more than I can express at the moment, but the precedent Gonzales and Bush have set puts my FAMILY in extreme danger, especially if captured.

Gonzales is unacceptable.

Sadly Bu$h can do whatever he wants while we all pay for it. :cry:
